A HUMANITARIAN AND ECOLOGICAL DISASTER
A gigantic ecological disaster is the result of blowing up the dam in Kachowka. Dead animals, washed-out cemeteries, landfills, objects from the street, yards, shops, mines, windows, doors, furniture, etc. flow into the Black Sea. The water carries everything that it took from the flooded areas straight to the mouth of the river into the Black Sea. Large amounts of pollutants have already reached the shores of Odessa and it is only a matter of time until they appear on the shores of Romania and Bulgaria, which borders on Ukraine. The direction of the coastal currents from the mouth of the Dnieper-Buzek flows towards Odessa, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, which is why all the countries of the Black Sea will feel the consequences of this catastrophe.
WE ARE PREPARING TO LEAVE
In cooperation with Romanian and Ukrainian pro-environmental organizations, we monitor the state of pollution of the Black Sea shores, preparing to start cleaning works – fishing and removing from the shores what has polluted the Black Sea as a result of the flood.
We urgently collect equipment (ropes, transport trolleys, bags, protective clothing, etc.), arrange collection of collected waste. Logistics and proper preparation are crucial due to many threats.

Our organization provides assistance on many levels. We work on site in Poland, supporting the adaptation of refugees, conducting educational classes for children and adults, solving the most difficult problems of people in an extremely bad situation. Unfortunately, the catastrophe that happened took everyone by surprise – it was not possible to plan the rescue of the Black Sea coast in the budget. After all, we will not be indifferent to this tragedy – we are going to remove the effects – we give our hands to work, help us equip ourselves properly to be safe in these extremely difficult conditions.
