On June 6, the Russians blew up the dam on the Dnieper River at Novaya Kakhovka, which forms the Kakhovsky Reservoir, stretching 240 kilometers. The water flooded dozens of nearby towns. Toxic substances from sewage and garbage dumps entered the Black Sea, and nine times the concentration of iron in the water was recorded. The sea dumped garbage, furniture, household appliances, clothing, sludge and hundreds of thousands of dead animals on the beaches.
